Jill has been creating art since 1999. Several of her paintings have toured Ohio through Accessible Expressions Ohio (AEO) since she began entering work in 1999. She has received several ribbons from the local fair in the Fine Arts Division. In 2003, she received Best of Show for her piece, “Lighthouse with Dolphins” in the professional category in her local fair.

She has work exhibited locally through the arts council. Jill received a cash award from The Rehabilitation Services Commission of Ohio (RSCO) when they choose her sculpture, “Circles”, as the winning piece in a contest they sponsored in1999. Her piece was copied five times in metal and was given as the award in RSC’s yearly award banquet for the next five years. She has been mentioned or featured for her work in the visual arts in several newspaper articles and other publications.
In 2003, Jill was commissioned by the Ohio Statehouse to paint a piece depicting the Ohio State Capital Building. Jill had several pieces featured in the 2006 statewide exhibition for artists with disabilities “Images Seen” which took place at the Rhodes State Office Tower. Jill took second place at 2007 “Artists with Aptitude” in Sandusky, Ohio with “Christmas Sunrise”. In November 2006, Jill was featured in an Art on Main exhibit at a Bean’s-N-Cream coffee house in Mechanicsburg, Ohio.

Jill has taken many art classes to increase her skills as an artist and enjoys working in pen & ink, acrylic, marker, oils. Jill spent several years volunteering at her local YMCA in the daycare area. She stays very involved with advocacy for people with disabilities by attending local chapter meetings of People First of Ohio. Her interests include crafts, the Internet, computer graphics and mosaic art.
